The kids get excited when Friday night comes around. They know Friday night is popcorn and a movie night. As soon as dinner is over, the fun begins.
The little ones get the popcorn out while Mom sets up the popcorn popper. First the popcorn oil goes in, then the popcorn. As the popper heats up, the excitement builds. After a few minutes the whole thing starts to explode! The kids jump up and down in excitement. As soon as everything settles down, Mom takes the popcorn out of the machine. Now it's time for the butter and the popcorn seasoning. The kids like cheese flavored popcorn seasoning, but Mom and Dad like ranch. Better make two batches. Now everyone is happy.
Everyone moves into the living room and finds a good spot to sit down. What will the movie be? Something sad? Something exciting? Only Dad knows for sure. He puts the movie in and everyone watches as they munch on their popcorn. Nothing is more enjoyable than popcorn and a movie on Friday night.
There are other ways to enjoy popcorn and a movie. How about making caramel popcorn instead of regular? This is a favorite for kids and adults alike. To make caramel popcorn, just take plain popcorn and add some caramel Glaze Pop in the kettle. Popcorn balls are another tasty treat for movie night. Marly’s Gourmet Popcorn features the best popcorn kernels in the Midwest with cheesy jalapeno, chocolatoffe, caramel and cheese.
Sometimes, it might be fun to go out to a movie instead of watching one at home. Even though this is more expensive it can also be more enjoyable, especially if Mom and Dad go out alone. In that case, give the babysitter popcorn instructions for the kids at home to enjoy their own movie. Whether the kids come out or not, popcorn will still be a big part of the evening.
One of the best things about movie night is the memories that are made. These are the kinds of traditions that help a family bond together and the kind of memories that will define a happy childhood.
