With the arrival of springtime comes the chance for people to gather outdoors for school and neighborhood events and picnics. This is a great time to use one of our cotton candy machines. The sweet smell wafts through the air with gentle breezes and makes people hungry. Cotton candy is a unique sweet treat that is well-known for the sticky pink residue that covers smiling little faces and hands. It is quickly and easily wiped off, but sometimes it’s cuter to leave it on for a while.
Called Fairy floss, cotton candy was first created in 1897 by William Morrison, John Wharton, Josef Delarose Lascaux and Thomas Patton. Patton patented the confection in 1899. The cotton candy maker was first unveiled at the 1904 World’s Fair and began its climb into popularity.
Snappy Popcorn has a handful of models to choose from that can be used over and over again for school, church or community events. Some come with free floss sugar with the initial purchase of the machine.
They are easy to use and, with a little practice, the cotton candy aficionados of the group can become quite the experts and very popular with the youngsters. It is fun for them to see the spun sugar grow in the cotton candy machine before it is captured and lifted out onto the traditional paper cone or whipped into a plastic bag.
We do carry all of the necessary supplies for your cotton candy machine experience. Although pink vanilla flavored sugar is traditional, we offer many other colors and flavors that are just as much fun, like blue raspberry and grape.
